Velvetyne is a French foundry founded in 2010 by Frank Adebiaye, who invited other typography enthusiasts to join him. It now operates as a collective of around a dozen members, spread between Paris, Annecy, Nancy, Belgium and Germany.
Positioning
Velvetyne is a libre foundry: all its typefaces can be used, modified and redistributed for free, including for commercial use. It claims a punk spirit and readily publishes unusual, even illegible, creations.
