Me, myself & RenaultInstallation

In order to activate its prestigious showroom on the Champs Elysées, L'Atelier Renault asks the Villa d'Alesia & Co agency. We help them to design an interactive installation that plunges visitors into of Renault's history.

How to capture attention when telling the story of an automotive brand

In a premium showroom on the Champs-Élysées, visitors are on the move, curious but in a hurry. Telling 120 years of Renault's history in this context is a narrative and technical challenge of the highest order. How do you make a brand timeline captivating for a diverse audience — families, automotive enthusiasts, tourists — without ever losing or boring them? The answer couldn't be a simple film or a static exhibition. It had to be personal.

An installation that draws visitors into the story

Bonhomme, the creative agency, designs a setup built around a tablet and an arc of screens developed in webGL. The principle is as simple as it is powerful: the visitor enters their date of birth and takes a photo. From these two pieces of data, the installation generates a personalized timeline that tells how the Renault automotive brand has evolved alongside them — from their birth to today.

Each key moment in Renault's history is set alongside a moment from the visitor's own life. The result is a unique immersive experience, different for everyone, that turns a showroom visit into a personal memory. WebGL enables smooth animations and premium visual quality across the arc of screens, creating a sensory envelope that amplifies the story's emotional impact.

Bonhomme's UX/UI work in Paris is designed for passing visitors, not seasoned users. The opening step — entering a date of birth — is immediately intuitive and engaging. It instantly creates a promise: this immersive experience is about you. The journey is calibrated to fit within 3 minutes, short enough to hold attention to the end, dense enough to generate real emotion and lasting attachment to the automotive brand.
