Awwwards case study : Black Messiah 2018
For Black Messiah, the graphic novel by Dan Dasse and Julien Cohen, we wanted to introduce the character of Alex without compromising the comic's traditional visual style. We built a 3D WebGL experience using cel-shading, where the reader activates words from the narrative to trigger animations. Two standalone 3D scenes allow the reader to open the book and immerse themselves in the story, all while leaving plenty of room for their own imagination.
